Churches across the world are gearing up for the first 'Pluralism Sunday'.

Against a backdrop of public questioning about how a beneficially plural society can be sustained, the British Methodist Church is inviting people of all ages and faith backgrounds to take part in the Face 2 Faith photo competition, capturing images that communicate something powerful about positive inter-faith relations.

In 2006, the young people of Methodism challenged the Church to dedicate a month to prayer for improved relationships between people of different faiths. They pointed to the 'hostile and untrue' things that are said about some faiths, particularly Islam. Inter faith action, they decided, was hugely important as a way of challenging this. And the first step could be prayer.
