Burma's military junta appears to have cut public internet access to prevent the broadcast of videos, photographs and information about the violent attacks on protesters against the junta's rule - report global news agencies.

The Bush administration has come out against the idea of equal access to Internet communications. The US Justice Department says ISPs should be able to charge a fee for “priority web traffic” – critics say this opens the door to a two-tier system divided between rich and poor.
