A sense of vision

Submitted by Simon Barrow on 30 May 2008 - 6:12am.

I am speaking at a policy forum on 'Renewing the Vision' - one of a national series - on Saturday 7 June, 2pm.

It takes place in Exeter with government minister Ben Bradshaw MP, theologian Professor Tim Gorringe from the University of Exeter and Sue Errington from the Global Centre. The meeting is organised by the Christian Socialist Movement (CSM), but open to people of all persuasions. Further details: http://www.thecsm.org.uk/policydiscussion.html

"At a time when religion is back on the political agenda, when politics seems more about ‘management’ than vision, when consumerism and globalisation have made state socialism seem outdated - and yet as poverty and inequality continue to increase - how do Christians on the left respond? What does holding to a radical vision of ‘the kingdom’ mean in the 21st century?"
